What are your normal hours of operation?
Mix Theory Studios is by appointment only. Available appointment times will be maintained within our Studios and Services Booking tool via our Community Portal.
While we do not maintain regular office hours, we generally have someone available Tuesday through Saturday from 11 am to 7 pm to answer questions via phone and to request last minute bookings.
Appointments requested within 72 hours are subject to confirmation and availability.
Can I book one of your studios by the hour if I’m not a regular client?
Yes, you can request an appointment via phone or email.
Studio recording sessions start at $50 per hour. Prices depend on the room with equipment requested. Rentals for the L.A.B Music Studio and the Lounge require a two-hour booking minimum.

Do you offer discounts?
Yes, we offer discounts on our studio recording sessions:
- MTSJAX members receive 10% discounts.
- Affiliate members receive 15% discounts.
- Military and veterans receive 10% discounts or 15% if MTSJAX members.
- A 10% student discount is also available with college ID.
We also offer package discounts on full-service production plans, studio day rentals, and recording blocks of 10 hours or more.
I want to start a podcast, but don’t know how to start. How can Mix Theory Studios help?
Mix Theory Studios is a full-service podcast production house with a local podcast network, MTSJAX.fm. Our team can help you with everything from start to finish:
• Vision, goals, and monetization strategy,
• Show design, structure, and host identification,
• Sound design, custom music, voiceovers, and licensing,
• Research, guest identification, and content creation,
• Graphics, audio-visual production, and editing,
• Ad insertion and sponsorship,
• Distribution, social media, and marketing,
• Statistics, listener feedback, goal measurement,

Because quality podcast production can be quite involved, it is important to first start out by understanding your goals for starting a podcast. Our team will meet with you and help guide you through this step before advancing further. We will also work with you on developing the best approach to fit your goals and your budget.

Do you sell or license custom music?
Yes, our team can help you design custom music for your podcasts, commercials, phone systems, and any other needs you may have.

Do you have a record label?
No. Mix Theory Studios, Inc., does not have a record label. We support independent artists, and welcome other producers, engineers, and record labels to collaborate with us.
Do you have artist development and management services?
No. Mix Theory Studios, Inc., does not provide those services directly. However, we do work with affiliated companies that offer such services. Check out our affiliate directory located within the Community Portal.
Do you provide lessons, apprenticeships, or internships in studio?
We offer DJ lessons. We also have affiliates that offer lessons to include, but not limited to, vocal lessons, songwriting/composition, and sound engineering lessons within our studio. Age restrictions may apply.

At this time, Mix Theory Studios does not offer apprenticeships or internships. We may consider these types of programs in the future.
Where can I park?
There is on-street parking located right in front of the Blackstone Building. This is metered during the week from 8 am to 6 pm. There are also public parking garages within a few blocks, ranging from $12 to $20 per day.
