2022: A Year in Review

A Successful First Year with Interesting Projects

Mix Theory Studios has had a busy and successful first year in business. Since our soft opening on January 4, 2022, our music and multimedia recording studio and production company, located in downtown Jacksonville, Florida, has been a hub of activity.

We hosted our Grand Opening on February 22. We finished the build-out of all five of our recording studios, including redesigning our Bay Street Suite and the Skyview Lounge, which overlooks the St. Johns River.

We launched and produced podcasts and interview series on MTSJAX.fm, a local network designed to support creators and artists in Jacksonville, Florida. We created original music for commercials and artists. We worked with a diverse range of artists to release new songs and music videos. We recorded an audiobook, created professional sizzle reels, voiceover demo tapes, and various other multimedia projects.

"This is wonderful. You folks have created some amazing interviews out of ramblings."

~ Lisa Lofton, CEO of The Art Center Cooperative

One of the highlights of Mix Theory Studios’ first year was our participation in the Jacksonville Bicentennial festival, where we launched our “In The Mix” video series highlighting some of Jacksonville’s talented artists from Jacksonville’s Art Center Cooperative and some of our local nonprofit CEOs.

We hosted two pop-up podcast studios in the community, one at Jacksonville Beach and one downtown at Ruby Beach Brewing. These popups gave us the inspiration to publish JAXTAPOSE, a mini-series podcast about Jacksonville and the stories of its Natives and Transplants.

Supporting Community with Music & Multimedia

We had the opportunity to work on several high-profile projects, including the production of three national TV ads for the Florida Farmworker Association encouraging Mexican-Americans to vote [Video 1, Video 2, Video 3] and supporting other national media organizations on political, radio, and TV commercial projects.

Mix Theory Studios also sponsored the Winter Bloom Stage at the Northeast Florida Winter Solstice Festival, a wellness festival held in St. Johns County on December 16-18, 2022.
This event featured O.D.D.I.T.Y., a local rap artist with local bands, such as Honey Hounds, Jimmy Beats Band, and the Willow Sisters, and DJs from Future Joy, Rinse & Repeat Records, Garage Session, House of Rose Productions DJ Noah J, DJ KGB, and more. Jonah Kest, featured Nike Master Trainer, also shared his music on the stage during his classes. Jonah’s vinyasa classes will be available on Netflix in 2023.

As we reflect on this past year, we realize we met and worked with many amazing people. With our professional team and state-of-the-art facilities, we believe we are well-equipped to continue creating high-quality audio and visual projects for our clients in the coming years.
Thank you to all of our clients and creators for allowing us to collaborate with you on your projects! We appreciate you all and wish you a healthy, prosperous and happy New Year!

Cheers from Mix Theory Studios!
